For those who have Akinabalu in the bucket list, we suggest you go this year because it looks like it’s going to be much more expensive to climb Mount Kinabalu begining next year, 1 January 2023, as there will be an increase in the climbing permit and entrance fees to Kinabalu Park.
This decision is made to overcome the increase of the park’s operational and management costs, as well as to be in line with Sabah Park’s vision to reach sustainable financing by the year 2025.
