Hail to the King! Atlas Moth, scientifically known as Attacus atlas, is one of the largest moths in the world in terms of wingspan approximately 30cm, and wing surface area of about 160 cm! The name Atlas was derived from the Titan of Greek mythology, or it could be because of its beautiful map-like wings.
After emerging from their cocoons, they feed on nothing because they do not have mouths and can rely on the food stored during the caterpillar stage. That means they live for about 5 to 7 days only. As caterpillars, Atlas Moths aren’t picky with their food. They eat leaves of privet, Citrus trees, cinnamon trees, and more.
