Located in the scenic hills of Kundasang, the Humble Hobbit Home peeks out from the ground with its round doors and grassy rooftop blending perfectly into the natural landscape. Inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit,” this cozy retreat brings a slice of Middle Earth to life, giving guests a chance to experience storybook living surrounded by nature’s calm.
Humble Hobbit Home is managed by B-Inspired Abode and Hobbits, a Sabah-based company dedicated to creating unique stays that combine comfort with creativity. Each home was designed to capture the warmth and charm of a true hobbit dwelling, allowing guests to enjoy a relaxing escape that feels both magical and down-to-earth.
There are eight hobbit homes in total, each with its own look and theme. Inside, every unit feels warm and welcoming, with soft lighting and smart use of space. Each home comes with basic amenities such as comfortable beds, a private bathroom with hot showers, a small kitchen or pantry area, dining space, and free Wi-Fi. Guests will also find essentials like towels, toiletries, and basic cooking tools for a cozy, hassle-free stay. Some homes offer clear views of Mount Kinabalu, while others have small outdoor spots where guests can sit, breathe in the cool air, and enjoy the mountain view.
Each of the Hobbit Homes offers something special for every type of guest. The Dreamwood Hobbit sits at the highest point of the property, giving guests one of the best views of Mount Kinabalu. The Sweetheart Hobbit is built for two, with a romantic mountain-view corner perfect for quiet mornings together.
For small families, the Enchanted Hobbit Cottage offers bright, spacious comfort, and two queen size mattresses, while the Faerie Hobbit stands out with its two queen size floating beds and unique waterfall-style shower. Larger groups can enjoy the Humble Hobbit Home, which comes with a private seating area overlooking Mount Kinabalu, or the Sunset Hobbit Cottage, known for its wide balcony and beautiful sunset views.
The cost of accommodations ranges on offer starts at RM270 for 2 pax (Dreamwood Hobbit) to RM600 for 6 pax (Sunset Hobbit Cottage).
