Batik Air Malaysia has announced the launch of direct flights from Kota Kinabalu to Singapore, commencing February 12, 2026.
Route Details
The new service will operate four times weekly using the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Flights depart Kota Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) at 10:55am and arrive at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) in 2.5 hours. Return flights leave Singapore at 2:15pm.
Promotional fares start from RM159 one-way.
A Major Improvement
This direct route is a significant upgrade from the previous Batik Air journey between KK and Singapore, which took 9 hours with a 5-hour stopover at KLIA. The new direct service cuts travel time by more than two-thirds.
Benefits for Travelers
The convenient schedule allows for:
- Same-day business trips
- Weekend getaways to Singapore
- Easy family visits
- More efficient travel for shopping, dining, and entertainment
Regional Impact
The route strengthens connectivity between Sabah and Singapore, benefiting both tourism and business. Sabahans gain easier access to Singapore’s attractions and business opportunities, while Singaporean tourists can more conveniently explore Sabah’s natural wonders including Mount Kinabalu, pristine beaches, and wildlife attractions.
The direct link is part of Batik Air Malaysia’s broader expansion strategy across Southeast Asia and supports ASEAN’s vision of enhanced regional tourism and connectivity. For booking and flight schedules, visit Batik Air Malaysia’s official website.
