Kuih Lidah is a traditional snack of the Papar people. The name kuih lidah (literally translates to tongue cake) got its name from its tongue-like shape. Many locals calls it kuih tiram (oyster cake) as well because it’s similar to an oyster.

This kuih is one of the best selling snacks of Sabah and is getting popular throughout Malaysia. It’s usually coated with icing sugar, and layers of thin fried bread which creates the crispness and buttery flavour felt in your mouth. Kuih lidah goes well with tea and coffee, so it becomes an ideal snack for tea break.

This delicious snack really makes your tongue happy!
