Looking for a different view of our beloved Aki Nabalu? Check out Mount Nungkok!
Mount Nungkok is situated 30km away from Kota Belud town, and is located in Kg. Tambatuon. It was given the name ‘Anak Kinabalu’ (means child of Kinabalu) by locals from the nearby villages as it sits right beside Mount Kinabalu. The mountain cannot be seen from Ranau, Kundasang or Kota Kinabalu and is often mistaken as Mount Kinabalu during a misty day.
While being less than half the height of Mount Kinabalu with 1652 meters elevation, Mount Nungkok’s hike up offers a greater challenge than the mighty Mount Kinabalu itself.
