Kuih pinjaram (or penyaram), nicknamed “UFO cake” because of its flying saucer shape is a traditional snack for the Bajau people.
It is made out of rice flour, coconut milk and flavoured with pandan fragrance or gula Melaka (palm sugar), its delicious aroma and chewy texture will make you eat more than ‘just a few’. Pinjaram is commonly sold in local markets such as tamu (weekly open-air native market).
